When I was a young child, I remember looking up at the sky trying to see God and what lies beyond the heavens. After my father died just before my fifth birthday, I continued to look past the clouds hoping to see him once again. Later on I began to believe that everything is made up of energy and that we are all connected. As an adult I began studying meditation and metaphysics. There is something wonderful in this feeling of connection, this spiritual oneness. I love "the sounds of silence" and the peacefulness that comes from quieting my mind. Through the years I have had many health issues including herniated disks, pinched nerves and bi-lateral carpal tunnel. Traditional medicine, physical therapy and chiropractic care did not alleviate the pain or diminish my symptoms. I chose to follow my own course of action -- taking the alternative route of natural remedies, meditation, visualization and healthy supplements. I became a vegetarian many years ago. With that came an interest in healthy cooking, organic foods and natural remedies. Today I feel better than ever before. The road to enlightenment may not be a straight one, but the journey is certainly interesting!
